UTAR Most Improved Research Centre 

In view of the improving performance of the research centres in the field of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities, the Centre for Applied Psychology (CAP) was awarded a special mention as “UTAR Most Improved Research Centre” in UTAR Annual Excellence Awards 2018 held on 24 July 2019.

CAP Chairperson enlightens AiFM listeners on grandparents-grandchildren contact

Centre for Applied Psychology Chairperson (CAP) Dr Gan Su Wan was recently invited by AiFM radio station to share her expertise on “Grandparenting and Its Effects on Elderly and Children” at Wisma Radio Angkasapuri, Kuala Lumpur on 28 August 2019.


Shedding light on the reciprocal effects of grandparents-grandchildren contact, the sharing session also saw Dr Gan imparting insightful information on ways to manage the relationship between parents and grandparents.

Recognising your love language

UTAR Master of Psychology Programme Head Tan Soon Aun was invited to share his expertise on “Love Languages” at AiFM radio station, Wisma Radio Angkasapuri, Kuala Lumpur.


The sharing session aimed to enlighten public and community members who have interests in couple relationships. Tan shared his knowledge about Malaysian couple’s well-being and the appropriate adjustments among couples. He explained to listeners that there are five types of love languages, which are words of affirmation, quality time, receiving gifts, acts of service and physical touch.
